It has a static side, which was a must for us in a crib (even before all those drop-side crib recalls), and it has a spring bottom which is much more durable and comfortable for baby than the flimsy, thin wood panels sold with so many other cribs. We have the ebony color and it is so classy--we love the curved styling of the side rails which make getting baby in and out of the crib very easy. We are now using it for our second child, and it is still as sturdy as ever! I found putting the crib together rather difficult and not all the holes for screws were a perfect line-up. I was also 38 weeks pregnant, so maybe it was just me. :) Great crib!

(More customer reviews)It came very fast, there was a damaged piece from shipping but customer service was really awesome. (I'm still waiting on the replacement piece but have been kept infomed via email about the status). It's really sturdy and much nicer in person. For the price it can't be beat. We paid almost triple the price for my son's converible crib and although this one is not as high in quality as those >$500 cribs, I'm confident in it's quality and really happy about the price tag! It will suit us just fine. I can't justify giving it 5 stars because it hasn't been used just yet.
Oh...the nice bonus is that it comes with hardware to convert into a full bed later on...no gimicks that you need to purchase extra bed rails or anything like that.
